We start this Outlander Location tour with a visit to Linlithgow Palace which was used as Wentworth Prison in the show, this beautiful palace is set on the banks of Linlithgow Loch and is also famous for being the birth place of Mary Queen Of Scots in 1542. We will then make the short drive across to Blackness Castle which was the scene of Black Jack Randall’s Fort William military camp, the castle is set on the banks of the river Forth and you can enjoy stunning views of the 3 Forth Bridges. We then pay a visit Hopetoun House, this was the setting for The Duke Of Sandringham’s home. This beautiful mansion house dates back to 1699 and boasts some amazing architecture. We then travel north west to visit Doune Castle, as an Outlander fan you will instantly recognise this caste as Castle Leoch. Doune Castle is no stranger to the film industry as it was also used in Ivanhoe (1952), Monty Python (1970’s). This is a great location to end a wonderful trip.
